My passion for baking started out when I was a kid. This passion eventually compelled for me to enrol into R. L. Clement Cake Decorating School, and complete the Novelty Cake Making Course in Colombo, Sri Lanka. With more knowledge about baking and its essentials, I began participating in various competitions and exhibitions. One of these was the Annual Cake Exhibition in Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), a milestone for me in my pursuit of baking. It was during then that I was awarded the Highly Commended Medal for themed cakes, and came in Third place for a drop flower cake that I had made.

This marked the beginning of HamsuBakes, a small home-based business in Colombo, taking small-scale orders and making customised cakes for customers. I have since moved back to my hometown, Jaffna, and am now embarking on this journey to transform HamsuBakes from a small word-of-mouth business to a proper bakery and patisserie. HamsuBakes is my passion for the art of baking taking a large step forward, to add a touch of sweetness for all your occasions.
